With only a few short weeks left until the first issue of campfire magazine is out, I've been spending each Saturday morning photographing items for the directory. It's a lot of work, and even more driving but I love seeing places in Maine that I've never seen before.
So as I followed the Androscoggin River on Saturday I stumbled across the Colburn House in Pittston. This historical building was once the host to Benedict Arnold. I had seen the building in the Maine state park passport book before but didn't realize where it was until I drove by.
Unfortunately, it was about 9:30 in the morning and tours didn't begin until 1, but I'll certainly be heading back. Tours run through July and August only so if you're interested you'd better plan your trip!
