Treat summer guests to fresh cocktails with ingredients from your summertime garden! Start your evening in the gardens, learning what to grow and collecting herbs, veggies, fruits and berries to use.
The class will move to the Kitchen Garden Cafe to learn to create (and sample!) signature garden drinks -- like bloody marys with chili pepper vodka, minty mojitos, basil martinis -- and infusions like blackberry brandy. You'll even learn to whip up a blueberry soda for the kids at your party! NOTE: This class is for participants ages 21 and over. Reservations required.

The Village Folk Festival will be held Friday and Saturday, August 22-23, in beautiful Downtown Bridgton. Regionally local music, food, arts and crafts, demonstrations and activities will fill Depot Street in a celebration of who we are and what we do. Expanded this year to a second day, Saturday will be the Festival Marketplace followed by a big show in the evening.

The Royal River Music Fest is a new FREE, all-day music festival to be held at Royal River Park in Yarmouth, ME on Saturday, August 23rd. It will be a very family-friendly event showcasing a variety of musical acts.
There will be two stages at the festival to keep the music going all day long! We will also have a number of food vendors and activities for the kids throughout the day.

Marr's Ridge Trail Hunt's Meadow Road,midway between Route 126 and the Cooper Road
The first section of the Marr's Ridge Trail passes by old stonewalls and through a sugarbush as it heads up gradually for a half-mile to the open ledge. From there, a 3.5 mile loop trail goes through mixed woods out to the discontinued Nelson Road, then returns along another woods road passing by wetlands and a vernal pool. Park in the lot below the sugarhouse on the west side of Hunt's Meadow Road. For more information, call David Elliott at 549-7572.
Rangeley Lakes Region Logging Museum
In celebration of RLRLM's "official opening" of trails, we created this new annual event of up to 100 vendors of all types at the RLRLM Fairgrounds. Vendors include holistic (ie.,massage, Reiki); produce and Farmer's Market; woodworkers; crafters; fiber handiwork; various artisans; photographers; jewelry, non-profits, trail information, etc. Alpacas and sheep petting at their related vendors. Food Court vendors will serve their delectable specialties located near the Pavilion! Live musical entertainment will be available. Chainsaw carving demonstrations, and many vendors will also demonstrate their artistry at their booths.

The Nonantum Resort will be hosting the Second Annual Paddle Battle. The race for kayak, canoe, stand-up paddle board, surfboards and any other vessels without a motor heading down the Kennebunk River, will be held at 1:30 pm. The outdoor festival will also feature live music by Todo Bien, sponsored by Weir's Motors. There will be an opportunity to test out kayaks and paddle boards. Red Bull is supporting the race with their jetskis so it promises to be a great time! Other supporters include Aquaholics, Liquid Dreams, Spirit Apparel, Wheels and Waves, and Kittery Trading Post has provided a $1500 Stand Up Paddle Package that includes a new SUP, Paddle and Lifevest.
The entry fee for the race is $45 for a single participant until August 23. Same day registration will be $60. All levels of athletes are welcome and encouraged! Please register on line at www.paddlebattlekport.com. The race begins and ends at the Nonantum Resort with the turnaround point being in the basin beyond The Mathew J Lanigan Bridge.
In addition to the race and demonstrations, the Kennebunkport Fire Department will be on hand teaching water safety awareness, and there will be lots of outdoor family fun and games, plus food and beverages available for sale. It will be an awesome way to spend an August Maine afternoon!
