In 2014, the Trek Across Maine will celebrate its 30th anniversary of cycling for healthy air in Maine! From the mountains in Bethel, to the sea in Belfast, experience Maine from border to border at the largest American Lung Association cycling event in the country. Join over 2,000 others who come to enjoy three days of cycling to benefit the American Lung Association.
Start Location: Sunday River Ski Resort - Newry, ME
Finish Location: Steamboat Landing - Belfast, ME
Registration: $65 registration fee (non-refundable & non-transferable).

If you are looking for truly unusual things to do on a Maine vacation, Maine lobster boat racing may be the perfect activity for you! In this decades old tradition, said to be "Maine's version of NASCAR"... ...race participants take the competition seriously. With reported top speeds over 60 miles an hour and racing by Class, many boat owners follow the lobster boat "race circuit" from mid-June to late August, as it makes its way from Midcoast, Maine, to Downeast.

Celebrate Father's Day Weekend with a StoryWalk featuring children's book And to Think That We Thought That We'd Never Be Friends. Families will walk along the trail as Audrey O'Clair, Family Literacy Liaison with RSU #3, makes the story come alive. Meet at the Haystack Mountain trailhead behind the Walker Memorial Ball Field in Liberty. Note: The book's story boards will be up through September 2014.

Spring Point Ledge Light Trust
Enjoy a unique opportunity to tour the inside of an actual working lighthouse. Take in the best view in Portland harbor; ships, tugboats, recreational and lobster boats are all on parade. Tour guides will explain how the lighthouse worked in 1897, how the keeper's lived, and how the lighthouse has evolved over the last 117 years.

The Portland Sea Dogs in conjunction with the Maine Medical Partners Urology, and the Maine Track Club, will be hosting the Fifth Annual Father's Day 5k Road Race on Father's Day, Sunday, June 15th, 2014. Proceeds from the event will benefit Maine Coalition to Fight Prostate Cancer. There will also be a Kid's Run that is free of charge.
