Here are some of the great seasonal events happening this weekend in Maine.

Swan Island mainland ferry landing, corner of routes 197 and 24, Richmond, ME
See completed food plots and discuss costs, equipment and other considerations. Attendees are welcome to bring a picnic lunch.
Sept. 13 - 8:30am
When Maine Audubon first began running this trip in 1969, sighting one or two eagles was all that could be expected. Since then, the bald eagle population has rebounded from the devastating effects of pesticide poisoning, and during last year's trip we observed 66 eagles! We will board the boat in Boothbay Harbor for a trip across Sheepscot Bay to the Sasanoa River then up the Kennebec River to Merrymeeting Bay. Weather and tides permitting, we will return to Boothbay via the Kennebec. The sheltered tidal waters of Midcoast Maine offer some of the most pleasant and scenic cruising to be found anywhere--plus excellent wildlife watching. In addition to bald eagles, expect other raptors, seals, sturgeon, shorebirds, and waterfowl along the way.
Sept. 13 - 9am
Rail Trail, 31 Union Street, Augusta, ME
Crisis & Counseling Centers (C&C) invites community members, clients, families, friends, local partners and nonprofits to the agency's On Track to Recovery 5K Walk/Run.
September marks the 25th year of Recovery Month, a national awareness campaign that promotes the benefits of prevention, treatment and recovery for mental health and substance abuse disorders. At C&C, we know recovery is a process that can't be achieved within a month - the ongoing resiliency and strength we see in our clients is proof of that every day. But we believe it's important to dedicate a month to celebrating the achievements of the recovery community because too many of our family members, friends and neighbors suffer with mental illness or substance abuse issues in silence.
